CHECKSUM

Perfectly Generic Backstory:
You must fight off the army that is protecting the ROM from being hacked into and modified, that army is called the CHECKSUM. Once you have defeated the army and made it past the ROM's intensive code, the hacker will then be able to do whatever he plans to do with such a bad game.

I have decided to continue work on this due to feedback.
All custom ORGs in this are courtesy of @Shade of a Wave
The life pot item works as a save state function.
I made this entire hack in 8 hours.

Needs more savepoints/checkpoints. Also it isn't clear that you have a weapon.

It's fun, quick, and simple, I'm amazed in what people can make in short time, I find this fun because of the platforming, and the situations the o.8 is used in. Get's a solid 7.5.

This was a fun mod. I found one bug though,
you can pick up the booster multiple times. That's all I could find.

Also, I died after getting here and went wayyyy back. I do think there should be more savepoints.

Nice short mod with a amazing graphics style choice.
Only a few things:
• If you use the life pot to save in a location where an enemy is supposed to spawn, you practically have to restart since you will spawn inside the enemy when you die, causing you to die instantly when restarting.
• It's nice if the player at least heard a sound or got a notifcation when getting the weapon.
• The 'dragons' near the end breathe invisible fire.

There is a sound when getting the weapon :V
a single sound isn't all that noticeable when you listen to street fighter

thats the same fate for any save anywhere mod.

It's a pretty fun mod. I like the simplistic art direction and I've never been so sick of Guile's theme in my life. I't's hard if you're bad, like me. Just don't save in the middle of a jump or where an enemy is supposed to spawn.

This was a fun mod, the minimalistic graphics allowed for focus on gameplay, which I enjoyed. Also the color-centric graphics allowed for a bigger variety of environments. Where as most tile sets vary in patterns, the one used in Checksum varies in color, allowing for transitions to different color environments, such as from forest to desert (albeit blocky and Atari-type.)

Berry gud stuff.

Okay, well, it was fun as in...
- I liked the new approach in art style (Would it have been better to sprite the squares up to the length where their hitboxes are?)
- It was a bit challenging, one of the lava segments kept making me die and reminded me of IWBTG's bullcrap

A lil stuff
- the music why (is this a cons???)
- Yeah, I couldn't hear the gun equip sound myself. And I was PREPARED for one or to get a gun but no message box or anything popped up. I did realize when I started mashing X though

Yeah, this is all I gotta say.
